Founders’ Celebration 2013

Recently, more than 200 alumni, donors, community partners and friends of Renascent joined together to celebrate Renascent’s roots at its annual Founders’ Celebration held at the Paul J. Sullivan centre in Brooklin, Ont.

The centre, named in honor of one its key founding members, is a historic property originally built in 1859, and was established as a Renascent facility in 1989.

The musical line-up for the celebration this year included house manager and alumni Kevin Amisson along with his band The Fairleigh Freakshow as well as a special performance by Canadian country music singer/songwriter Lindsay Broughton.

Lindsay’s 45-minute set wowed audiences as she shared a few singles from her upcoming self-titled debut album set for release this year. For more on Lindsay and to hear a sneak peek of her much anticipated album check out her website here: http://lindsaybroughton.com/

Another highlight from the day’s celebration was a moment with Beverly B. who shared her story and how she has overcome her struggle with addiction.

Despite the rain, the event was a success complete with a BBQ, bouncy castles, good company and fellowship. Thank you to all those who came to support and celebrate!
