Generous donation will help support the long-term recovery of people experiencing addiction.
TORONTO, Ont. (October 7, 2021) – Renascent, one of Ontario’s largest and longest standing addiction treatment centres, has received a $300K donation to support the long-term recovery of clients who complete inpatient addiction treatment. Through the donation made to Renascent’s Continuing Care Program, 150 clients over a three-year period will benefit from an additional 26 weeks of addiction recovery support from the Program’s clinical team.
“Continuing care and support is extremely important after an intensive inpatient treatment program, as individuals integrate new learnings and coping skills into their daily lives,” said Laura Bhoi, Chief Executive Officer, Renascent. “Renascent is tremendously grateful for the generosity of this family, whose contributions to our Continuing Care Program will make this critical supportive treatment more accessible to people in need. The donation will go a long way in helping our clients build their recovery as they return to daily life outside of the structured environment inpatient treatment provides.”
Renascent’s Continuing Care Program is available to anyone who has completed intensive treatment at Renascent, or at any other addiction treatment program. Through the Program, clients attend weekly sessions and receive intensive relapse prevention education, as well as structured psychoeducational sessions and assignments to support their long-term recovery.
“Donors play an integral role in ensuring the sustainability and continuity of Renascent’s life-changing programs and services,” said Tania Archer, Director of Business Development and Philanthropy. “We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of this family and their commitment to ensuring that our clients have a strong start to their recovery. At Renascent, we believe cost should not be a barrier for people who seek addiction treatment and this donation goes a long way to support positive outcomes for our clients.”
Renascent’s Continuing Care Program – a critical component of the organizations’ addiction treatment continuum of care – is not funded as part of the Ontario Government’s Inpatient Treatment Program at Renascent. This generous gift and other donations, allows Renascent to provide this valuable Program to many individuals who would otherwise not be able to access the program.
