The cause of anger and the cause of addiction is the same thing. It’s based on fear. Anger always has an emotion of fear within it; we get angry because we feel threatened. People get drunk or high because they can’t deal with reality, because they’re afraid of it. Addiction is a way of running away from reality; anger is a way of trying to stop it.
