    Unleash your creativity! Renascent’s short story and poetry contest welcomes anyone in recovery, as well as their loved ones to write and submit inspiring stories and poetry. Entries should reflect the theme of hope.

    There is no cost to enter this contest.

     Contest rules: 

    • 1,500 word maximum (for short stories)
    • 40 line maximum (for poetry)
    • 1 entry per category
    • Submission deadline: September 24
    • Winners and honourable mentions are invited to feature at an author’s live reading or they may assign someone to read for them at Renascent’s Sparks of Hope, at Station Gallery on Saturday, November 15 from 6:30 – 9:30 PM. 
    • By entering, contestants Renascent grant permission to post their stories and poetry in whole or part on Renascent website and social media, share in their newsletters, and in local newspapers. 
    • The winning entry in each category will be awarded a $100 gift certificate, and a Renascent gift bag filled with goodies.

    I give my permission for my short story/my child’s short story to be used in Renascent’s print, digital, and video-based communications and marketing materials. This includes Renascent’s website, social media, donor, and alumni newsletters, and reports. I further acknowledge that my participation is voluntary and that I will not receive financial compensation of any type associated with participation in Renascent communications or marketing materials or other Renascent publications. I acknowledge and agree that publication of said text and/or photos and/or videos confers no rights of ownership or royalties whatsoever. I hereby release Renascent, its contractors, its employees, and any third parties involved in the creation or publication of marketing materials, from liability for any claims by me or any third party in connection with my participation.
