Renascent welcomes new Board Chair and Board Directors

Leah Bryce elected as Chair of Renascent Fellowship and Renascent Foundation

Renascent Fellowship and Renascent Foundation are pleased to announce that Leah Bryce has been elected Chair of the Board of Directors following the organization’s Annual General Meeting in September. Two new directors were also appointed to the Boards during the meeting.

“It is an honour to serve as Renascent’s Board Chair,” said Leah Bryce. “Renascent has a proud history of providing person-centred addiction treatment to people living with substance use disorders. With communities across Canada continuing to be severely impacted, Renascent has an important role to play today and in the future in helping individuals and families recover and reestablish hope in their lives. I am honoured to serve this long-standing organization as we deliver on our mission to help save lives through compassionate addiction and mental health programs.”

Leah joined the Renascent Foundation Board in September 2023. She is a seasoned executive leader and is currently Associate Vice-President, Governance and Controls at TD Bank Group. Leah is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and prior to joining TD Bank Group, Leah progressed her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. Leah also brings to Renascent a deep understanding of the impact addiction can have on individuals and families, and her commitment to supporting access to compassionate, evidence-informed care.

Leah succeeds Karen Martin, who has served as the Board Chair since 2022, after joining Renascent Fellowship Board in December 2019. During her tenure as Chair, Karen provided steady leadership focused on the organization’s mission and the needs of the people, families and communities it serves.

“We are grateful for Karen’s thoughtful leadership and advocacy over the past four years. We are fortunate to have benefited from her vast health sector experience and remarkable dedication to Renascent’s mission,” said Michael Lochran, CEO, Renascent Fellowship and Foundation. “Leah has been a committed and passionate member of our board since she joined, and we are excited to welcome her into this new role. As Renascent embarks on a new strategic planning process and continues to expand the role it plays in the mental health and addictions sector, Leah’s leadership will be an important part of this next chapter for our organization.”

Two new Board Directors who bring extensive leadership experience and expertise to Renascent were also elected at the Annual General Meeting. Renascent Foundation’s Board welcomes:

  • Kate Coutts – Executive Assistant to the National Executive Director and Chief Negotiator at ACTRA.
  • Michael Multan – Family Medicine resident at Western University, Chief Resident for the London urban stream, and Treasurer of the Professional Association of Residents of Ontario Union.
