Your Rights as a Donor

Renascent Foundation’s Donor Bill of Rights

At Renascent Foundation, we believe that philanthropy is built on trust, transparency, and compassion.
As a valued donor, you deserve to feel confident in your giving and respected in every interaction.

That’s why we uphold the following rights for every supporter of our mission:

As a donor, you have the right:

  1. To be informed of Renascent’s mission, and how your donation helps deliver high-quality, accessible addiction treatment for individuals and families across Ontario.
  2. To know how your gift will be used, including which programs or services your support is helping to fund—whether bursaries, family care, youth programming, or continuing care.
  3. To receive timely acknowledgment and sincere gratitude for your support.
  4. To access our most recent financial statements, annual reports, or impact summaries upon request.
  5. To be assured that your gift will be used for the purpose for which it was given, or to be consulted if circumstances require a change in use.
  6. To have your personal information handled with care and confidentiality, in accordance with Canadian privacy laws and our strict internal policies. We do not sell, rent, or trade donor information.
  7. To update your communication preferences at any time, including the option to remain anonymous or be removed from mailing or email lists.
  8. To expect professional and respectful interactions from anyone representing the Renascent Foundation and Renascent.
  9. To know whether fundraisers are volunteers, staff members, or third-party representatives.
  10. To ask questions and receive clear, honest answers about your giving, our fundraising practices, and the impact of your support.

This Donor Bill of Rights is adopted for Renascent using the AFP Donor Bill of Rights.
