To support you with the process of entering our intensive inpatient treatment program, here is some information about what to bring and expect for your stay.

To support you with the process of entering our intensive inpatient treatment program, here is some information about what to bring and expect for your stay.

Transportation costs

Clients attending through our Ministry of Health funded-program are asked to ensure they have $200.00 available to cover transportation/transit costs for attending outside community 12-Step Meetings while in treatment.

Center Location

Double-check the location of your treatment centre. Renascent has four treatment centres. The name and address of the treatment centre you will be attending is located in your admission letter.

Personal Identification and Documentation

Up-to-Date Health Card

Ensure your health card is valid and not expired.

Government-Issued ID

Bring a valid photo ID (e.g., driver’s license, passport).

Insurance Information

If applicable, bring any insurance cards and information.

Emergency Contact

Please inform us of any change to your emergency contact details.

Medical Information

Medications & Supplements

  • Bring all current prescription medications in their original bottles with labels intact.
  • Bring only brand-new and sealed over-the-counter medications or supplements you regularly use.
  • *** Any new medications prescribed or physical/mental health diagnoses and/or hospitalizations between your assessment and treatment entry must be disclosed

Medical Records

Any relevant medical records or information about recent treatments.

Allergy Information

Provide a list of any known allergies, especially to medications.

Please note, all clients attend a medical assessment with our physician(s) while in treatment. Our Physicians may review and add/adjust medications while you are in treatment.

Personal Care Items

Toiletries

  • Toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Shampoo and conditioner
  • Body wash or soap
  • Deodorant
  • Hairbrush or comb
  • Shaving supplies (if applicable)
  • Feminine hygiene products (if applicable)

Towels and Washcloths

Bring a couple of towels and washcloths.

Clothing and Person Items

Comfortable Clothing

Pack enough weather appropriate clothing for the duration of your stay, including:

  • Underwear and socks
  • Pajamas
  • Casual wear
  • Comfortable shoes and slippers
  • Sweater or jacket (if needed)

Laundry Bag

Bring a bag for dirty laundry.

Personal Comfort Items

Photos or small personal items that provide comfort.

Luggage

Bring only ONE suitcase and ONE carry bag as we have limited space.

Financial Information

Payment Information: Ensure you have arrangements for any required payments.

Notebook and Pen: For taking notes during sessions and personal reflection.

Reading Material: Books or magazines for leisure time.

Important Reminders

Waiting for Admission: When you arrive at the Centre, we ask that your ride not leave until we clear you for your admission. Please ask them to wait outside or in their vehicle.

Leave Valuables at Home: Please do not bring valuables. Renascent is not responsible for the loss or damage of these items. If any of your belongings require safe keeping, please let an addictions counsellor know upon admission.

Do Not Bring:

  • Personal vehicles

  • Visitation is restricted. Personal items may be dropped off if pre-arranged with staff.
