Maggie B.

Maggie has been an addictions counsellor providing frontline services in the GTA for nearing 30 years. During this time, Maggie has always worked in teaching relapse prevention and life skills, aiding in withdrawal management, and providing both inpatient services and outpatient drop-in programming. Maggie is known by nearly every recovering addict in the city of Oshawa as she runs Pinewood Centre’s 2 p.m. drop-in group, which most people in the area in early recovery attend on a daily basis. She has touched the lives of tens of thousand of people struggling with the disease of addiction, and is a powerful example to many who work in the field of recovery.
