- What is the purpose of Renascent’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee (DEIC)?
The DEIC acts as an advisory body to promote a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment at Renascent. Its primary function is to enhance the health, safety, and well-being of clients, employees, and community members. The committee:
- Audits and supports Renascent’s diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives
- Raises awareness about DEI principles.
- Reviews work and clinical environments.
- Making recommendations to improve policies, practices, and culture.
- Who serves on Renascent’s DEIC?
The committee is composed of members from Renascent’s Senior Leadership, Board of Directors, management, Human Resources, Quality Measurement and Improvement, Clinical Staff, and Alumni/Person’s Served.
- What is the role of alumni/persons served on the DEIC?
As a DEIC member, alumni/persons served will:
- Provide valuable perspectives based on their experiences with Renascent’s services.
- Contribute to discussions and initiatives to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Review committee materials, provide feedback, and make recommendations to enhance Renascent’s care and environment.
- Is this a paid position?
No, the DEIC is a volunteer role and is not a paid position. It is an opportunity to give back to the Renascent community and help shape its future in a meaningful way.
- What is the time commitment for DEIC members?
DEIC members are expected to attend at least 75% of meetings annually. Meetings are held quarterly, with occasional additional meetings as recommended by the committee.
An additional time commitment is required for other committee tasks such as reviewing meeting minutes, completing training set by the committee, as well as other duties of committee members.

- What qualifications or skills are needed to join the DEIC?
No specific qualifications are required, but we are looking for alumni/persons served who are passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion and are committed to contributing to Renascent’s mission. There are also no sobriety requirements. Your lived experience as a person served by Renascent is a valuable asset to the committee.
- How will my participation make a difference?
Your involvement will help shape Renascent’s policies, practices, and culture to ensure they reflect the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion. By sharing your insights, you’ll contribute to creating a safer, healthier, and more inclusive environment for all clients, staff, and community members.
- Is training required for DEIC members?
Yes, members are required to complete training as set by the DEIC to ensure they are equipped to contribute effectively to the committee’s goals. Details about training will be provided upon joining.
- Can I participate remotely?
Yes, DEIC meetings are held online.
- How will I know if I am a successful candidate?
The DEIC will review all applications and short-listed candidates will be contacted. Those candidates will be invited to an online meeting to connect with other members of the Committee for an informal interview. Up to three members will be invited to join the Committee.
